Lorna and Tilly Lorna and Tilly enjoying being on the move again in the second lock of the day.
Approaching Berlaimont there was a railway bridge being repaired with more than half of it covered in scaffolding down to a foot above the water. We had to slightly scrape the left bank to get by. Low bridge!
Moored Barlaimont We stopped in Berlaimont for a night and Tilly loved the surrounding long grass along the bank, she is in the foreground of the picture pushing her way through the jungle and eating the young grass shoots.
We have never seen so many buttercups and put it down to a wet spring followed suddenly followed by continuous sunshine. Buttercups
Labernum By the Berlaimont lock and weir, there was a bridge over to the town - a good short cut to fetch the morning's fresh bread (and a beautiful Labernum tree).
Some locals from the house opposite the moorings paddled by to say hello. Their wooden canoe was 60 years old and looked in great shape. Several people came by to say that it was nice to see a boat using the river again. We felt really welcome. Barlaimont canoe
